a) WASSCE Holders: CREDIT PASSES (A1 – C6) in Six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including English language and core Mathematics, and three elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
b) SSSCE Holders: PASSES (A-D) in six subjects comprising three core subjects, including English Language and core mathematics and three elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
c). General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advance Level Applicants. Applicants must:
Have passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better), and also have credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and a Science subject or a Social Science subject.
d). Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Applicants. Applicants must: Have passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better). Have credit passes in five (5) subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE).
e). Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Applicants Applicants must:
Have TVET Certificate II Examinations with Lower Credit (C-) or
better in six (6) subjects made up of three (3) core subjects which include English, Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies, and three (3) relevant Elective Subjects.
Possess Certificate II in three (3) relevant trade areas awarded by Technical Examinations Unit (TEU), National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI), City & Guilds, and other authorised awarding bodies in addition to NABPTEX Certificate II in lieu of passes in English and Mathematics.
Have National Board for Professional and Technicians Examinations (NABPTEX) certificate II in relevant trade areas in addition to three (3) credit passes in WASSCE/SSSCE core subjects, including English and Mathematics.
Possess a National Certificate II qualification in Competency Based Training (CBT) in a relevant trade area awarded by TEU) on the National TVET Qualification Framework (NTVETQF).
f). Foreign Qualifications
All foreign qualifications should be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for the determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission into the Colleges of Education in Ghana.
Note: The American SAT, TOEFL, etc. cannot in themselves be acceptable as entry qualifications into Ghanaian tertiary educational institutions.
g). The Bachelor of Education Programmes currently offered in the Colleges of Education are the following:
I. 4-year Bachelor of Education in Early Grade Education
II. 4- year Bachelor of Education in Primary Education
III. 4-year Bachelor of Education in Junior High School (JHS) Education
Note: The JHS option provides applicants with the opportunity to specialize in a particular subject area to enable them teach at the JHS level after graduation. The subjects include Science, Agric. Science, Mathematics, ICT, Home Economics, Music, Visual Arts, Social Studies, Geography, History, English, Ghanaian Language (Asante-Twi, Akuapim-Twi, Dagaare, Dagbani, Dangme, Ewe, Fante, Ga, Gonja, Gurene, Kasem, Nzema), French, Arabic, Building Technology, Electrical Technology, and Wood Technology.
h). Entry requirements for SPECIAL NEEDS APPLICANTS: I. VISUALLY IMPAIRED

Failure to meet the minimum attendance requirement, specified by the College for any course in a semester, will be considered inadequate participation in the learning process. Consequently, students failing to meet this criterion may face the following repercussions:
The College places significant emphasis on students’ exposure to course content and the valuable interaction between lecturers and students in the classroom. As a result, students are expected to attend all lectures, seminars, and practical sessions stipulated in the course curriculum.
To advance to Level 200, a student must achieve a minimum CGPA of 1.0. Any Level 100 student who doesn’t pass up to three (3) courses at the semester’s end will need to retake those courses at the beginning of the following semester.
For Level 100 students, failing in more than three (3) courses by the conclusion of the first semester exams will result in complete withdrawal from the college. These students will have the chance to reapply for admission.
According to the Academic Rules and Regulations of the University of Cape Coast, a Level 100 student failing in more than three (3) courses at the first semester exams will be entirely withdrawn from the university and can reapply afterward.
Level 100 students failing in three (3) courses at the end of the academic year will be allowed to retake these courses before the start of the next academic year.
However, any Level 100 student who retakes failed course(s) and subsequently fails in more than two (2) of the re-sit courses will be completely withdrawn from the university. They will then have the opportunity to reapply for admission
a) To advance from Level 200 to Level 300 and subsequently from Level 300 to Level 400, a Level 200/300 student must have achieved a minimum CGPA of 1.0.
b) A student failing up to three (3) courses in the end-of-first-semester exams will be eligible for re-sitting.
c) Following re-sit examinations, a student is not permitted to have failed in more than three (3) courses by the end of the academic year.
d) If a student fails in more than three (3) courses at the conclusion of the academic year, they will not have the opportunity to re-sit but will instead need to repeat the courses or may be placed on academic probation. The student is expected to demonstrate improvement before progressing further.

Applicants are advised to read and ensure that they fully understand all relevant instructions especially programmes offered in a particular college before completing the application form. Applicants are to note that application forms which are not properly completed will not be processed.
Applicants should select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice of three Colleges of Education in order of their preference for their programme of study, and must select any one of the Ghanaian Languages offered in a particular college.
After completing the online application form, an applicant will need to print a copy which should be sent with one passport photograph and a copy/copies of their results slip(s) (where available) by EMS priority envelope obtainable from Ghana Post nationwide and addressed to: The Principal of the applicant’s first College of choice.
